Project Description
Webinar panel discussion, broadcast live: Tuesday 11th February 2025
Hosted by Simon Turner, Engagement Manager for the National Highways Driving for Better Business programme, and Chairman of ARRM, this special webinar is being delivered as part of the Project EDWARD 2025 with support from the Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
Our panel of experts put the safety and wellbeing of commercial lorry drivers under the microscope. In a road environment increasingly dominated by economic pressures, we ask what are the most common physical health issues faced by commercial drivers, and how can these be addressed?
- We’ll be looking at the typical causations of collisions and incidents involving HGV drivers.
- We’ll look at some of the key challenges for truck driver health and wellbeing, including an invisible epidemic that you’re probably not aware of.
- We ask how do long working hours and irregular schedules impact the mental health of lorry drivers, and what measures can be implemented to mitigate these effects? What role does diet play in the overall health of lorry drivers, and how can companies support healthier eating habits on the road?
- And finally we’ll look at some actions that could reduce these collisions and the impact they can have on all of us.
We have a panel of experts to discuss theses issues and more, followed by a live question and answer session with the audience.
