Project Description
Every day, millions of children travel to and from school – but how safe are their journeys? In 2024 alone, 64 children under 16 were killed and more than 12,000 injured on UK roads, with many incidents occurring near schools – places that should be the safest for our young people.
Our webinar, “How Safe is Your School Transport?” brings together experts and stakeholders to examine a wide spectrum of school transport safety: from the legal and practical issues around minibuses, to school policies on students driving themselves, and the vital role of local authorities.
We explore the latest law updates, best practices for fatigue management, and the importance of regular vehicle checks. We also look at the relationship between schools and transport providers, and discuss how strong policies and community action can address risks like roadside parking, speeding and inadequate crossings. Whether you’re a school leader, parent, local authority officer, or transport provider, this event will provide practical insights and real-world examples to help you keep children safe.
Join us for this timely discussion and be part of the solution to making school journeys safer for everyone.
