This professional webinar on motorcycle safety – took place to mark the conclusion of Phase 2 of Scotland’s PRIME motorcycle safety project. This webinar is dedicated to the memory of Professor Alex Stedmon, whose pioneering work in developing the PRIME markings contributes to a significant reduction in motorcycle casualties.
Tom Duckham from Redspeed International introduces the company’s Sentio Standard – a new initiative bringing know-how from the race track to support safer riding for everyone. David Mckenzie from Transport Scotland provides a review of the Project PRIME motorcycle safety initiative, with results from Phase Two which ran from 2023 to 2025.
PC Nick Thomas, the BikeSafe lead for South Wales Police, discusses effective interventions aimed at antisocial motorcycling.
Heidi Duffy MBE, a representative of the National Young Rider Forum provides an update on latest research and initiatives to protect 16–24-year-old motorcyclists – with a focus on those riding for work.
We also hear from the youngest of young riders: a 16-year-old who will just have completed his Compulsory Basic Training and may well have some questions for the experts!
