Project Description

On Friday 6 March at 0800, we welcomed a fantastic line-up of panellists who discussed their own experiences in victim-focused justice and took questions from our audience.

Victim-focused justice is an approach that prioritises the needs, voice and wellbeing of those harmed, rather than focusing solely on processes or punishment. It seeks to restore dignity, provide practical and emotional support, and help people rebuild their lives after trauma.

Andrew Lavanchy is a specialist roads policing officer with West Midlands Police whose expertise in victim‑focused justice centres on applying restorative justice and structured victim‑contact approaches in a roads policing context.

Angela Tyler and Diana Wood from the Ely Memorial Fund in Hereford are committed to supporting bereaved families and promoting road safety for young drivers in Herefordshire and beyond.

Raymond Williams is a former police family liaison officer who now has the role of Police Relationship Manager at Slater + Gordon. He acts as a key link between police forces and the firm to support officers and staff with legal services.
