Project Description
This is the first in our four‑part webinar series on safeguarding young drivers presented in partnership with Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen and Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe.
We’re bringing this series together because we want to change how people think and talk about young driver safety. Too often, discussions about Graduated Driver Licensing – or GDL – focus on what it might restrict but, as Police and Crime Commissioners, Joy and Philip see it differently. This is about safeguarding – giving young people the best possible start to their driving lives and protecting them and those they share the road with.
Over 60 minutes, we hear from experts and from the people who have helped get GDL over the line in Northern Ireland. We explore the evidence, the politics, the practicalities and, crucially, what all of this could mean for us here in Great Britain.
